Editing Photos!

This week's assignment was about editing photos. We are supposed to choose 5 different images from our photo album and upload them with our corrections. I chose some of my favorite pictures from my recent and past whereabouts. While editing I realized how convenient preset photo filters were but also how much more you can get from actually working the settings yourself. It's funny because these epiphanies seem like common sense of course but I guess one leans more toward convenience nowadays instead of actually doing it themselves.

In other news, I watched a movie for my film class called Eurovision Song Contest The story of Fire Saga. The movie stars Will Ferrell as Lars Erickssong and Rachel McAdams as Sigrit Ericksdóttir. The story follows a pair of childhood friends that try to make it big in an Icelandic singing contest. Normally this isn't the type of movie I would watch but then again that's what the Film class is for right? To expand the understanding of film viewing. Anyways, the point of the assignment was to identify the way color is used in the film and how we can use it to identify the mood, emotion, and foreshadowing of the film. I have always had a huge fascination with vivid colors. When I was editing my photos I kept this concept in mind. I tried to make the colors of the photos I edited interesting and vivid I wanted to instill a sense of fascination and tranquility the way a painting does. I hope they came out okay.
